Love it, and enjoyed the podcast from Rock Creek. Any LA book tour dates planned? I think Michael wants to take you golfing at Riv while you're out here.
Congratulations, David! We are heading to Ketchum this weekend and usually visit the Silver Creek store on Main Street. Hopefully they’re stocking The Believer and I can pick up a copy in person.
Congrats! I experienced #20 last week with my son. I brought my fly rod on our family trip (just in case…). The creek along a trail we were walking was a youth-only fishing stream. I casted out with him, then he hooked and landed a good-sized (stocked) rainbow!
Congratulations on the book release! I came to your writing by way of Men and Style, but I thoroughly enjoy all of it. I don't fish, but you make me want to give it a go, for all the reasons, even (or especially) the ones that have nothing to do with catching a fish.
Congrats, David! I don’t even fish, but I deeply enjoy your work. Golf has taken a similar hold of me in recent years. I read the introduction to The Believer this morning, and I can’t wait to dive in more later. Cheers to you!
I really appreciate this information, Mr. Coggins, thank you. Fishing in general, and fly fishing specifically, has been such an important life activity of generations of Kentucky woodsman in our family. And John McFee is one of my favorite authors so I look forward to the podcast. And also reading about your fishing clothing project with Drakes. Best wishes and thank you.
Thanks for dropping the knowledge on TARPON. It is the only DVD I still possess (and cherish).
You could imagine a young Hiaasen even turning up down there to chase massive migratory Tarpon, seeing McGuane and Brautigan doing their thing...windows of Duval street boarded up, but everything else so free. The film, with its 'jangly' Buffett soundtrack makes me happy to be a Floridian...which is nice when so much current news about it has the opposite effect.
Congrats, David! I picked up my copy at Three Lives early this afternoon. You might need to go back and sign another batch...they were already talking about running low! :)
“The Believer” is a wonderful book!
Can't wait to read The Believer!
And thanks for the heads up on the John McPhee episode. He's one of my favorite writers, and I missed this one back in 2021. Excited to listen.

Love my Emerger bag - Can't wait to read the book!
Congratulations David!
Enjoy the well deserved break.
I just received my copy of Blood Knots. It’s a delightful page turner.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I also just emailed ThreeLives and ordered The Believer!
Cheers

Congrats David! Excited to read.
Did the Filson date change or am I going crazy? Could have sworn it was the 19th?
