I’m looking forward to the eventual bedroom slipper collab with Viberg, The Insider.

Nice material selection on this iteration. I have the lactae hevea soles on a pair of Rancourt boots and I love them. Very well done!

Thanks! Appreciate it.

How is the sizing on these boots? What is your “normal” Alden size / court shoe size relative to what you wear in these? Any other reference points? Thanks

Hi there, so I wear a 9 in Alden boots and a 9 in these. But I wear an 8.5 in Alden loafer. So that’s a little confusing. I would say they run true to size. But are on the wide side. A little roomier. Thanks!

"We go back and forth until we get the best version of that thing." Drake's, Sleepy Jones, Quaker Marine, Wellema, and Viberg are a few brands that you've worked with. Talk us through the process for this type of collaboration. What is the timeline? How much input do you have on the product design, and in what aspects? Silhouette? Material? Do you start with sketches before moving to a prototype? Do you work with a single product designer or a team?

Sometimes it’s an altered version of an existing thing they make. Sometimes there needs to be a new silhouette. The drawings for the Kirk Originals glasses were probably the most involved (they did them and I kept making suggestions). Sometimes (ideally) they make a sample. The whole process can take six months or more. But that’s partly because they have a lot of other things going on.

Thanks. It's noteworthy that the design collaborations you have engaged in are all conceivably things that you would (do) use in real life. Whether adding your own 10% to a design (as established on Central Division, it's the 10% that counts!) or something more involved, like the Kirk Originals, it feels like the final object is something that you wanted to see but wasn't readily available. Given that, what is the David Coggins dream design opportunity. It doesn't have to be a collaboration with a specific brand, but what is the elusive object that you would love to either bring back, or introduce to the world?

Sorry, this is turning into a whole newsletter here. Probably some sort of wading jacket.
