A Seahawks fan, I’ve lived through many a painful season. I remember telling friends when we won Super Bowl 48 that I don’t even need to win next year’s, and I hope Chargers and Vikings fans can soon feel this level of elation. Then we lost 49 in the worst possible fashion and I found myself ever having goodwill toward other franchises.
All that said, other than week three, best of luck this season.
This resonates. While I’m not much of an NFL watcher, I grew up in the heart of SEC-land, and have been (un)lucky enough to be born to an Auburn family rather than to a cursed Alabama family.
While we did win a national championship in 2010 and then lost to FSU in the championships a few years later, Nick Saban has won six championships leading the f*cking
Crimson Tide over the past 15 years, aka the majority of my adult life.
I can acknowledge that perhaps this isn’t as terrible as never having won a championship at all, but damn… being an Auburn fan has been PAINFUL since the Bear Bryant days…
