I just received my first made to order of two shirts here in Toronto. Love them. I thought I'd be a Turnbull and Asser guy forever...and now, I can't wait to order a few more.
I was onboard right up until I got to "Yak wool". Can't do wool of any type on a shirt. Because I also don't mess with undershirts. It does look like a good shirt, though, for those who can tolerate wool.
That's precisely the problem. I can't tolerate wool or cashmere next to my skin, at least on my upper body and extremities. I've learned, over the years, to tolerate wool trousers (at least nice flannel or worsted. Tweed is an entirely different matter). As a younger man I desperately wanted to wear Viyella shirts, but I never could do it.
Nice shirts but I am sticking with my collection of old (and a little frayed) Brooks oxfords. On another topic, I was reading my old copy of your father's book about family winter visits to Paris. The description of Hotel Montalembert inspired me to book tickets to Paris and reserve a room at the Montalembert so my wife and I can avoid the non-stop "breaking news" of inauguration week.
Off topic but wanted to let you know I was stopped in Walmart by a man with a face tattoo (or two) to ask me if I could tell him where to get some shoes like the ones I was wearing, and I happened to be wearing my Coggins x Rancourt Sawtooth Ranger Mocs. Unexpected interaction!
The Godfather would never wear a $450 shirt.
In 1970s dollars, why not? All the brothers wore tailor-made clothes. And lived in mansions and were driven in the fanciest cars.

If you didn’t know you would just think it was a cashmere/wool blend. So soft.

Great photos/the light! Well done
Does your Barbour fit over a blazer? And if so, do you ever wear it in this manner?
Oh definitely wear it over a jacket. That’s another good reason it’s good to have a long Barbour.

Are you a under shirt wearer with Oxford cloth and denim shirts?
I don't mess with undershirts.
That would make a great epitaph btw.
Well done David! The plaid is beautiful, fantastic collar choice.
Thanks Daniel!
Great Light Years reference! Just recently did a re-read. So so good.
Great article and terrific shirts. I hope the bonefishing went well.
What Chelsea boots (brand, style) are you wearing in that photo?
I love all my Chelsea children equally (Viberg, Crockett & Jones, RM Williams). These are C&J.
I picked up a pair of the Outsider boots last spring and wear them almost every day. Amazing boots.
Oh great! That's so nice to hear. Thanks Trent.
