Jet Lag Edition
Like many people, when I have jet lag I wake up early and am unusually productive. Awake at 5am, read, write, watch the sun come up and, crucially, feel slightly superior to all the people sleeping (lazy, indulgent creatures!).
So as I’m wide awake I thought I’d answer some of your questions. Just ask in the comment section below and I’ll do my best to respond. And no “where should I go in Paris?”—please be more specific and I’ll try to point you in the right direction.
Thanks!
I also wanted to let you know about my new collaboration with Huckberry: The Sawtooth shoe is out today, made by Rancourt in Lewiston, Maine. I’m thrilled with it. I wrote the inspiration (Idaho/Hemingway) here. And you can see the shoes here.
These are made of chromexel and just get darker and better over time. If you haven’t had the Lactae Hevea soles (natural latex, made in France), you won’t believe how much support and comfort they provide.
Hope you like them!
Not a question but a thank you for turning me(and anybody else paying attention) on to The Financial Times. The Aesthete,HTSI and Travel columns are all columns I look forward to every week.
A question on Espadrilles. Love them but find it difficult to follow the mix of Coggins/Hranek rules. 1. Don’t pay more than a few Euros for them 2. They should only last a season. For those of us that do not do an annual pass along the Côte d’Azur, do you have any recommendations?
