On Deadline
At the Buzzer
Apologies for the radio silence, I was on a book deadline. That sounds dramatic. And, if you’re the contractually obligated writer, then it is dramatic. Though the date was set well in advance, it somehow presented itself quite suddenly. Like when your team is losing in the second half and then you realize you’re deep into the fourth quarter. Pretty soon your Vikings are out of the playoffs. Wait, what? This isn’t a football post.
So this morning I sent the manuscript of my book to my editor at 2.45am local time in Paris. That was 6.45pm in New York and I’m considering that the end of the business day. Yes, it’s technically after business hours. But it’s also a holiday. So let’s say we’re square.
