I try to live a focused life—that’s the theory, anyway. But I’m not above the two-screen experience. If I’m watching a game or semi-prestigious show I might open the computer and crack into Ye Olde eBay. It’s not a bad equation. What’s eBay to me? The material world between the general and rarefied, the random and specific. The incredible range of eBay is a blessing that can be a curse. You can casually browse or obsessively deep dive for things you know you don’t really need.
But I’ve done well by eBay. Here are some principles I’ve learned over the years.
