Reached middle age and found myself shopping for vintage rugs often this year rather - cheaper than cars more expensive than nearly anything else! I think Michael said on last weeks Central Division that buying vintage is the highest form of taste - I’ll keep telling myself that to feel better.
The wife and I have decided to invest in experiences instead of gifts this year. We went to Las Vegas in October (U2 at The Sphere). As a family we are going to Punta Cana in March (Spring Break) and Italy in June. At my age I don’t need any clothes and my kids are getting older (high school) and spending time together is the greatest gift.
I'd like a nice pistol for shooting the ornaments off the tree, having polished off a jug of eggnog.
The only news I get comes in the FT Weekend, which arrives here in the French countryside the Wednesday after the w-e. My wife liked the Seamaster, so thank you for that excellent idea.
Thanks for compiling! Great list with great recs that I would not have thought of, grateful, for the inspiration.
Quick note- on Campbell's of Beauly rec: Beautiful sweaters! But a slight typo...
It’s the bad editor who blames Auto-Correct!

The world of rugs is very rewarding. Maybe too rewarding!
Do you know of any elegant overcoat options for women?
Well Clementina makes exactly that. They’re lovely. You can see them on the Instagram @clementinaworld
Thanks David! Unfortunately, I only see suits on the instagram, and only see suits and flats on the website. Am I missing something?!
Sorry, it was on Instagram Stories. You can DM Clementina and they can send you images. Thanks!

Experiences for sure. Add a fly fishing trip in there!
